Current Community Service Opportunity:

WC CapeAbilities’s Transition Camp

Students that are Seniors or just graduated have first opportunities to attend the transition camp. The camp does provide transportation to the WC Partners office. The camp is 3 days per week. The focus of the camp is to help continue to continue with transitioning out of high school. As students transition out of school who have a disability are found to lose skills once they lose that daily consistency of school. The camp focuses on working on learning cooking skills, budgeting, shopping, preparing for employment (interview skills, completing a resume, how to look for employment), they also go into the community to volunteer and work on social skills. We offer this to 10 individual’s to attend. Our Life Educator and a part-time staff run the transition camp. We do charge $100 for the entire 4 weeks for them to attend just to help offset some cost but, to also they have paid for their commitment to attend.
